The Cooperative is committed to ensuring ALL New Jersey children have health insurance.So, The Cooperative's President & CEO was proud to participate in the launch of an initiative in Camden to raise awareness and enroll as many children as possible who are eligible for free or affordable health insurance. Virtually every child in Camden and across the state of New Jersey ages 0 – 18 can get free or low-cost government health insurance – regardless of immigration status. The Alma program has officially launched and is now accepting referrals.The Cooperative's subsidiary, Family Health Initiatives (FHI), is proud to welcome this first-of-its-kind program to New Jersey.Developed by a collaborative team of researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder, mental health providers, community members and parents, the Alma program is an evidence-based peer mentoring program created with and for new parents experiencing depression, anxiety and stress. In New Jersey, the Alma program is administered by Family Health Initiatives with funding from the New Jersey Department of Health. This program - the first of its kind in New Jersey - pairs new and expecting birthing people who may be feeling sad, anxious or overwhelmed with peer mentors.
