The Alma program has officially launched and is now accepting referrals.The Cooperative's subsidiary, Family Health Initiatives (FHI), is proud to welcome this first-of-its-kind program to New Jersey.Developed by a collaborative team of researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder, mental health providers, community members and parents, the Alma program is an evidence-based peer mentoring program created with and for new parents experiencing depression, anxiety and stress. In New Jersey, the Alma program is administered by Family Health Initiatives with funding from the New Jersey Department of Health. This program - the first of its kind in New Jersey - pairs new and expecting birthing people who may be feeling sad, anxious or overwhelmed with peer mentors.
